My Blog
Step behind the canvas and into the creative life of an artist and illustrator. Here, I'll share the triumphs, joys, frustrations, and lessons that come with pursuing a creative life. You'll get a glimpse into my artistic process, the stories and landscapes that inspire my work, practical tips I've learned along the way, and the everyday moments that shape my imagination. This is a space for honesty, wonder, and connection—a place where you can get to know the artist behind the illustrations and join me on the journey from inspiration to finished artwork.
My Vision
Bridging Stories and Heart
One of my biggest goals as an illustrator & artist is to create an emotional connection through storytelling.
Whether that's:
-
Helping a child laugh.
-
Helping someone feel seen.
-
Carrying an important message.
-
Awakening a forgotten childhood memory.
-
Inspiring wonder.
-
Offering comfort.
-
Sparking imagination.
I want my artwork to be a bridge between the story and the human heart, and a bridge between generations, bringing together the young and old through connection.
Meet the Artist & Illustrator of
Carolina Moon & Moss,
Terry Lynn Ganey

Artist Bio
Terry Ganey is a watercolor and ink artist & illustrator based in Wilmington, North Carolina, where she draws inspiration from the natural beauty and quiet wonder of the Carolina coast. As the artist behind Carolina Moon & Moss, she creates hand-painted illustrations that blend storytelling, imagination, and a touch of Southern magic.
Inspired by the Golden Age of Illustration, Terry combines the crisp elegance of ink with the luminous softness of watercolor to create artwork rich in warmth, detail, and heart. Her illustrations are often influenced by moss-draped live oaks, coastal marshes, moonlit skies, and childhood memories spent exploring the natural world she grew up in.
Through her work, Terry hopes to inspire wonder, spark imagination, and create meaningful connections between stories and the people who experience them. She works from her home studio near the coast, alongside her husband, Andy, and their faithful studio companion, Bradley.
